Epic Games has announced via the in-game message of the day on all platforms that two new variants of a familiar Weapon will be coming soon to Fortnite – the Epic and Legendary Tactical Shotgun!
This announcement comes as a surprise to players as there were no leaked assets to indicate its imminent announcement. Following a total of three Content Updates for the v9.30 Patch, the Epic and Legendary variants of the Tactical Shotgun appear to be the highlight of the upcoming v9.40 Patch.
As the name and description implies, this addition is simply an upgraded version of the Tactical Shotgun which has been in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode since launch. While the purple (Epic) Tactical Shotgun previously existed, the new Epic Tactical Shotgun is sure to be a significant improvement.

These new variants sport a redesign physical appearance alongside their statistical improvements. This is not a new concept for higher-tier variants of Fortnite weapons, though it’s definitely interesting to see the artists’ latest take on the Tactical Shotgun.
