Epic Games accidently updated the in-game news feed for an Epic Games Store Mega sale whereby players receive $10 to spend in the Epic Games store.

Epic Games accidently updated the in-game news feed to display an “Epic Games Store Mega Sale”.

The feed accidently updated a few minutes after the new Fortnite Item Shop but was later removed. The description of the sale read, “The Epic Games store Megasale is happening right now! Sign up for 2FA in order to get $10 to spend in the store“.

As stated in the description of the news feed, players would need to sign up for/enable 2FA on their accounts in order to receive the $10 to spend in the Epic Games store.

The Epic Games store is different to the Fortnite store or the Fortnite Item Shop. This would NOT provide players with 1,000 V-Bucks. Players would receive $10 to use on games available in the Epic Games store.

It’s possible this is something that Epic will be announcing in the near future, possibly in this week’s v9.01 Fortnite update, but we’ll have to wait and see.

If this Epic Games store mega sale does come to fruition, here’s how you enable 2FA on your account:

Fortnite Sign up for 2FA/enable 2FA

  1. Go to accounts.unrealengine.com and log into your account.
  2. Open account settings by hovering over your username in the top right corner and selecting personal.
  3. Select password and security.
  4. At the bottom, click on the button labeled enable two-factor sign in.

We’ll keep you updated if there’s any further news on this.
