Fortnite Battle Royale Season 9 launched last week on May 9, and it looks like a brand new weapon will be dropping this week for fans to enjoy – the Tactical Assault Rifle.
Fortnite saw the removal of the pump shotgun in favor of adding the combat shotgun with the launch of Season 9.
Fans weren’t excited about the new weapon, especially since it was proven that the combat shotgun would deal inconsistent damage.
On May 14, the in-game Fortnite news section announced that another new weapon will be arriving, the Tactical Assault Rifle.
New weapon
According to the in-game news section, the new tactical assault rifle is described as “robust and precise assault rifle [that] is the ideal option for tight quarters.”
The weapon looks to be a fusion of the silenced assault rifle and the standard assault rifle.
Epic Games teased the new weapon with the Fortnite Battle Royale Season 9 launch image, with one of the characters holding the tactical assault rifle.
We expect this new weapon to drop with the v9.10 patch, which is supposed to release around May 15 or May 16.
According to leakers, the weapon will come in three different rarities – Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
The tactical assault rifle will have a fire rate of seven bullets per second, and will deal 22-24 points of damage per body shot.
There is no way to confirm the details about the weapon since Epic does not official comment on rumors or leaks.
We just have to wait for patch v9.10 to see what Epic has in store for us with the new tactical assault rifle!
