The previously leaked Fishstick look-alike, the Triggerfish Fortnite skin, will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop tomorrow, Friday 22nd November.
If you cast your mind back to the announcement video Epic Games posted on the official Fortnite social media accounts, the video teased an upcoming Fortnite skin that hadn’t been leaked by dataminers from previous updates.
The Fortnite skin in question wasn’t provided a name at the time, but the codename for it was Teriyaki Assassin. The code of the skin was in the files for some time, but no Fortnite skin under the name was ever released.
However, once players noticed the Fishstick skin with a different style, players thought that this skin codenamed Teriyaki Assassin will finally be making it’s way into the Fortnite Item Shop or being provided to players for free.
Tomorrow’s Fortnite Item Shop
In the recently published Fortnite Fishing Frenzy contest blog post, Epic Games announced that a new Fortnite skin would be available in tomorrow’s Fortnite Item Shop (Friday 22nd November).
Triggerfish Fortnite Skin
The skin that’ll be available is the Triggerfish skin, the outfit that was seen in the trailer for the Star Wars Imperial Stormtrooper announcement video. As mentioned previously, the skin had the codename of Teriyaki Assassin, but I guess Epic weren’t too fond of the name.
No information was provided in regards to how much the new outfit will cost or how long it’ll be available. The blog post only mentioned that it’ll be available in tomorrow’s Fortnite Item Shop when it resets at 7pm ET.
Judging by the image of the Triggerfish outfit that was provided by Epic on the blog post, it’s possible that it’ll be of uncommon rarity, making it available to purchase for 800 V-Bucks. Again, nothing has been confirmed in regards to price or rarity, so we’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s Fortnite shop.
It is likely however, that the skin will be available for at least two days, or possibly three simply due to the fact that the Fishing Frenzy contest will end on Sunday, 24th November.
There’s already been players speaking out against Epic releasing this as a separate skin in the shop due to the other styles for the Fishstick skin that Epic provided for free. Furthermore, if we factor in the other outfits Epic have reskinned and released recently including Dark Tricera Ops, Dark Rex, and Peely Bone, hopefully this won’t be a continuing trend with future cosmetic releases.
