A new item will be coming soon to Fortnite Battle Royale called a ‘Shield Bubble’ – here’s everything we know so far.
The announcement came via the in-game Fortnite News menu on Monday, August 26, which featured the first look at the new item.
Titled the “Shield Bubble,” it appears that it will be a mobile, throwable shield where players can take cover at any time.
At the time of writing, it is unknown how powerful the Shield Bubble will be in-game. The official tagline of the new item is “This is one bubble that’s not easy to burst. Sheild yourself from projectiles with this protective dome.”

The Shield Bubble reminds us a lot of the ever-classic Bubble Shield from the Halo series, although, we aren’t completely sure how it will function in Fortnite Battle Royale.
There is no confirmed time as to when the Shield Bubble will be released in Fortnite. Yet, the v10.20 update is expected to be released on Tuesday, August 27.
