The Fortnite Presents have made available a free Winterfest Fortnite tree skin called LT. Evergreen.
One of the new features for this years Fortnite Christmas event are Fortnite presents. Each day, players can make their way to the Winterfest cabin/lodge and open up a new present. Each present contains a cosmetic item from a music pack to gliders and pickaxes.
In the blog post announcing the Winterfest Christmas event, Epic Games announced what are in the Fortnite presents. There’s two free skins, two gliders, two pickaxes, two wraps, one emote and more. The ‘more’ epic are referring to are the back bling, banners, and loading screens.
So far, players haven’t been able to get a skin from the presents and they still won’t be able to. However, players can get a free Fortnite skin today from the Winterfest cabin called “LT. Evergreen” and here’s how.

How to get the LT. Evergreen Tree Fortnite Free Christmas Winterfest skin
In order to get the free fortnite tree skin called LT. Evergreen, players will need to make their way into the Fortnite Winterfest cabin/lodge. Once there, click the presents on the left hand side of the screen.
Once you’ve done, you’ll be able to navigate over onto the Christmas tree. Click on the tree and then you’ll be able to open it.
NOTE: There’s an issue/glitch/bug with the tree LT. Evergreen skin on PC, mobile, switch, and Xbox. PS4 players seem to get it. Epic will fix the issue as soon as possible and you’ll get the skin. Update: Epic have acknowledged the issue:
We are investigating an issue where players are unable to redeem the present from today in the lodge. We will provide an update when we have more information.

Update 2: It’ll now be in your locker if you had issues redeeming it!
When you’re on the tree, it’ll say “just a tree”, you then click on it and open it.
Once opened, you’ll be greeted with the message that you’ve unlocked the LT. Evergreen Fortnite skin, the first of the two free skins that’ll be available in the Winterfest cabin during the event.
The skin is of epic rarity with the description reading “just a tree here, move along”. The LT.Evergreen tree skin comes with a back bling called re-gifter which is just a present back bling.
If you’re on PC and opened the Christmas tree, you won’t receive it yet as the skin is still encrypted on the platform. However, if you open in on PS4 and Xbox One, you should see the message above right away and have it in your locker ready to use.
