Epic Games has announced via the in-game message of the day on all platforms that a new Weapon will be coming soon to Fortnite – the Revolver!
After being previously leaked following the v9.30 patch, the Modern Revolver has been officially announced with a release date set for the week of June 24th.
The name and description of this weapon implies that it will be a revival of the original Revolver which was once present in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode.

Interestingly enough, no footage of the new Revolver appears to have leaked at the time of writing. Perhaps this is due to Epic’s recent push to encrypt more of Fortnite’s assets to prevent leaks from happening?
As previously mentioned, the new Revolver (seemingly called the Modern Revolver internally) is not the first of its kind in Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode. From the mode’s initial release to September 6th, 2018, the Revolver was an iconic item in the loot pool; typically found as floor loot in the beginning of matches. It’ll be interesting to see what Epic’s new take on a Revolver-like weapon will be.
